Our computer services fall into two categories: Basic computer service for personal computing solutions, home offices and small businesses; for larger offices we provide network services as well. Exchange and Outlook Web Access
We offer support for both Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2000 including migration to Exchange 2000, setting up Outlook Web Access (OWA), configuring your internet connection and DNS to make both your Exchange server and OWA securely available via the internet to offsite workers. We also have experience in troubleshooting Exchange server connectivity problems, locking down relay agents to prevent spammers from using your Exchange server to anonymously send mail to other people on the internet and implementing Exchange Virus Protection to better protect your network from potentially devastating virus attacks.

Virus Protection
We have extensive experience in recovering from and preventing Virus infections along with configuration of F-Secure, Symantec Enterprise Security Manager for Desktops, Files Servers and Exchange Servers, Norton Desktop, McAfee’s Active Virus Defense Suite, McAfee’s Desktop application as well as Computer Associates Innoculate IT. We know the best practices for integrating these Virus defense systems into your network to protect your network without compromising your network’s performance. We can evaluate your network, make recommendations for appropriate coverage, implement and monitor your Virus protection. Should one make it through your security, we can also help in recovering data from infected machines and repairing them to pre-virus state*.
*It is sometimes impossible to repair a computer from a Virus without reloading the machine. We will do our best to recover the machine, but if necessary, we can also rebuild the machine to its previous state. Daily backups also help lessen the loss of data, should a Virus infection occur. We also offer Disaster Recovery solutions if necessary.

Disaster & Recovery
Data backup is an important part of recovering from any disaster that may occur, from something as simple as a Virus infection to a major computer hardware breakdown. We will assist you in reviewing your disaster plans and create solutions to better prepare in the event of a disaster. We offer support in implementing Backup Solutions and have experience with both Veritas Backup Exec and Computer Associates BrightStor (formerly ArcServe). We will review and test your backup solutions and help you to document all procedures.

Virtual Private Networks (VPN) & Firewall Solutions
We realize how important it is to be able to share network resources securely between work at home employees and remote offices. We can aid you in evaluating your security needs, implementing firewall solutions and setting up and supporting VPN’s. We have experience with Windows 2000 Remote Access, SonicWall’s VPN/Firewall appliances and CheckPoint for Windows VPN/Firewall. We also offer to travel to your remote offices to assist your employees there in integrating with your solution.

Active Directory Design and Maintenance
A current network map is an excellent way to keep an eye on your assets and makes asset management much more efficient. A full network scan would include the location of any hardware (servers, workstations, hubs, printers, etc.), the pertinent hardware specifications of each machine (hard drive, memory, CPU speed, etc.), the current operating system loaded on each machine as well as their current network address. This information can be invaluable in tracking down missing hardware, making certain your licenses are properly deployed and troubleshooting network connectivity. Your I.T. Works can come in to your location and assist you in evaluating tools that would do this for you, or we can do the network mapping ourselves. |
